Hey what's good my people? How are you all? I'm writing this post on Sunday, May 22nd, but I might post it any other day I get data😅. Hope you all are doing amazing? May God alone be praised, Amen.
Abeg,
WHY DO WE EAT RICE ON SUNDAYS IN NIGERIA?
Because as for me, I've become very curious. Have you gone to anybody's place on a Sunday without meeting rice there waiting for you?
You will even expect that there be rice when you get there. It has been engraved into our brains that "it must always be rice on Sunday." So my question is this;
"Who started this Sunday rice thing?"
Reason am abeg. Maybe some dude just cooked rice on a Sunday (maybe particularly rice and stew, cause it's very common on Sunday) and then people loved it and began to join him. Or abi is it because one guy was having a burial or a birthday on Sunday and then cooked rice for guests?
It has even passed Sunday. There is now a breed of rice called party rice which is not only for parties but for all types of gatherings, and always has one special kind of taste that no other type of rice has.
Why rice? Rice-y lives matter you know.
I'm sure you ate rice this Sunday, and I'm thrice as sure that you'll eat rice next Sunday. Come on, don't be shy. Expose yourself in the comments section right now. Hey, I'm even eating rice right now!
So tell me, why do you think everyone eats rice on Sunday? 🤷🏾♂️
Let me know.👇🏾
