The good, the bad, and the downright ugly

We do only non GMO, organic, and try to stick with heirloom so our crop has not been great in the past because of disease, pests, etc. so we went crazy this year and my wife did probably 100 starts and more direct sow. It's new ground to us so we tested the soil and it was only lacking nitrogen which we added. We used steel posts and 4 strands of wire along with some soiled goat bedding and manure for mulch and boom. Tomatoes gone wild! This pic is actually about a week old and the tomatoes have exploded. Every one is producing or about to, even some of the ones that looked sickly after transplant. It's incredible but kind of a head scratcher considering our paltry harvest last year.

Peppers did great... last year but they are struggling this year and of course we planted less of them.

I bought some red potatoes and garlic off the clearance rack at Tractor Supply. Some were already rotten and I wasted the few bucks I spent and the time to plant.

We're pretty pleased with what we've already started harvesting and will harvest soon. Add asparagus, herbs, apples, hazelnuts, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, paw paws, and of course Maple Syrup๐ฅ and we are thrilled with what our new land and some hard work provides us.
