THE PHASING OUT OF THE CURRENT BANK NOTES IN NIGERIA AND HOW IT AFFECTS CHRISTIAN ORGANISATIONS
Yesterday, the governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Godwin Emefiele announced that the apex bank is introducing new Bank notes for 100, 200, 500 and 1,000 naira notes.
From the pressing briefing he announced that the new notes will be in circulation as from December 15, 2022.
He also said that both the old and new notes shall exist together till January 31, 2023.
He concluded that the old notes shall seize to be accepted as legal tender by January 31, 2023
How Does This Concern the Christian Body?
I will explain,
Some of our churches and fellowship groups still keep a sizeable portion of their money as cash with the treasurer.
Please if your church or fellowship still does that, call them right away, tell them to go and deposit such money in the bank in immediately.
Till after January 31, 2022 all transactions should be done from the bank.
In fact after the harvest or end of the year thanksgiving this year, don't forget to take all the money realised to the bank immediately.
The implication is that any of the current notes that remains with our treasurers till the end of January 31, 2023 will become useless in our hands.
Please act now to avoid losing God's money entrusted into our care.
