I've realised very early in my life that people, no matter who they are, really, really likes to talk.
It's a thing that's written in our DNA, it seems. Whether it is about pointless, useless things or about important matters that evoke thoughts, we all really love to share our opinions and beliefs, and most of the time, we try to take the first chance we get to voice them out. But there is another side to this 'talking' thing we also love doing, and that is throwing out judgements.
We, humans, are some real judgemental little shits. Now now, I'm not placing this in a negative light altogether. After all, we all do harbour this magnificent multifunctional brain that has its own thinking ability. So it's kind of a given that we will also build up our own line of right and wrongs and judge people on the basis of these little conditions we have built.
Passing judgement, in general, isn't really a bad thing. But it's when you start judging others while sharing the same flaws as them that the whole thing collapses.
To me, judgement, or an opinion, is correct and justified when you, yourself, are on the other side of the line you've created. If you are free from the judgement you pass, only then can you voice it out. A thief can't really call out someone for stealing when they themselves steal, and a beggar can't point out others when they beg.
But sadly, we humans, most of the time, do just that, never taking into consideration how much of a fool it makes us seem to the person who is listening.
Honestly, It's a rather funny business to me. I've watched countless people spew out negative, taunting, even downright hateful things about another person when they are doing precisely the same thing that another person is doing. To me, it looks like a goat calling out another goat for being a goat. And I fall into a laughing fit every time I witness these things without fail.
What I think is that everyone has the right to be opinionated. Everyone also has the right to call another person out, but only when they are free from the situation they are pointing their finger at. Me, being a fat person, have no right calling someone else fat. Me, being a smoker, have no right to call someone out for smoking. It's really just as simple as that.
But alas! We humans sure do try to avoid simple things, and it's common for us to stay blind about ourselves when passing on comments. So on and on, we talk, and in the process, we lose track and make ourselves look like fools in the process.
The level of self-love and self-glorification is sort of astonishing when it comes to all this... But that's a topic for another post altogether...
