Powering down is never a bad thing or a wrong decision to make, I mean it's your choice to make and considering the fact that it is your first time to power down makes it even look more cooler than if it was something that you have done before.

But all the same as long as you deemed it necessary to power down for some reasons best known to you, then its great!
