Today I'm going to tell you a little about my childhood vacation.
Since Gerês is part of what I am today, since my childhood my parents took me to what I consider the biggest gift in Portugal.
The Peneda-Gerês National Park is a protected area in Portugal.
It is a mountainous region with about 60 thousand hectares in its totality conserved as a forest regime that allows the conservation of its soil, the waters of flora, fauna and landscape. The peneda goes beyond the Limits of Portugal entering our neighbor Spain as well.
The rivers Lima and Cavado are predominant throughout the GERÊS area of Peneda.
-The Peneda-Gerês National Park is considered by UNESCO as a World Biosphere Reserve.
Since its entry, we have been fascinated by the rare and scenic beauty.
Its crystalline and icy waters add color and life to the place.
Whoever goes there during the summer, I'm sure you'll find an excellent paradise just like me.
It also has a wide variety of birds and tree species, some of which are endangered, which makes the whole area even more protected.
