My first silver was sent to me by the most generous silver stacker out there... (In my opinion hehe) @silversaver888. When I was doing the Treasure Hunt for
@shadowspub PYPT show - (and yes... I promise... Another Hunt is coming
@enginewitty!!! Hehehe very soon!!!)
@silversaver888 was one of the pirates that joined in.
And one day.. she thought I needed a bit of silver! A beautiful silver button arrived with a pirate skull and crossbones 鈽狅笍
I thought oohhhhh. I think this could become a new hobby!!!
But.. I waited.
Then, when I got another gift from @monchhichi23 with some beautiful silver coins ... The addiction started to grow! Hehe
But... I waited.
Most recently, I won some silver in the Monster Raffle 3, a 1965 set of Canadian silver coins from @khamen! (I would be posting pics of all these but I'm in a hotel now! Lol I only have the picture of my latest that made me officially a stacker!)
And then right before we left for our holiday.... This arrived!!!!
I knew it wasn't coming in a coin cap, so @thedamus helped me to find the info on the size and I purchased some caps!
I NEVER touched the coin with my bare hands... Just carefully slid it out of its casing, captured a few pics with gloved hands (hehe) and popped it right into its new home. I didn't want any oils or acids from my hands to sit on that pretty finish!!!
Here is the backside of the 2018 Republic of Chad African Lion Silver coin.
And the front.... In its pretty little clear case home.
I purchased another from @raybrockman that should be there when I arrive back home! I'm really excited about that one and will be sure to tell you all about why it's a special purchase for me... But I'll wait til I get home!!
As far as what kind of stacker I foresee myself being hmmmm @thedamus asked me this and it made me think!
Of course it has inherent value as a silver coin! So, I love that I get to have a hobby that actually has value AND is beautiful. But I also really like things that appeal to me. I've never been one to just have something because it's expected. I like the things I own to have meaning and sentiment.
The silver pieces that I have already have begun to tell my silver story of friendship, appreciation, generosity, and now.. ownership. My decision to become a true stacker was born in my decision to make my first purchase!
Technically.... This is MY SECOND purchase! Lol
I actually bought the piece from @raybrockman first, and then purchased this one immediately after. Hehehe This one just happened to arrive first!
Why a lion?
I'm a Leo, and my nickname is Tiger. I love all bug cats!! Hehehe. So, it was a done deal! As soon as I laid eyes on this beauty, I wanted him to join my new budding collection 馃
I surely did spy a panther coin also... I'm thinking it might be my next silver purchase in 2019!!
Thanks for reading! As soon as my next coin comes, a new post will be on its way!!
