Third part of popular dance film series was the first to use 3D technology, made very popular in Hollywood following Avatar. That couldn’t prevent Step 3D to get worse box-office than previous two parts. The reason for its relative failure is in usually uninspired script that brings plot to New York and deals with rivalry between two dance groups. Rick Malambri and Sharne Vinson play two leads, but the show is again stolen by Adam Sevani in supporting role and his partner Alyson Stoner, especially in some scenes inspired by classic Hollywood musicals.
