I live in New Zealand. A country known for having a 'clean green' image, tourism is one of our biggest exports, next to dairy. The funny thing is that tourists come to New Zealand because they want to come to a place that protects it's beautiful environment but our other biggest export Dairy, is the highest pollution contributor.
Anyway, in New Zealand a new solar tax has been introduced; "The Electricity Authority says the home-owner who producers their own power through solar has an 'artificial advantage' over other power generators such as large hydro, wind and coal generated electricity, and in doing so disadvantages other customers using those power sources"

Doesn't this just prove that even New Zealand is still in bed with fossil fuel companies?
Even though at the Paris climate talk it was talked about phasing out fossil fuels.
Some people seem to think that this is fair and I just don't know if that's New Zealander's just not standing up for what they think is wrong or it's actually okay for this tax to be introduced. Any thoughts?
