I have heard so much about Erin Ijesa Water Falls and so I decided to take our students from Davies Academy on field trip to the place.
The preparation towards this trip was so elaborate due to the people involved. Permission to travel was obtained from the Ministry of Education, permission was also obtained from parents of students who were will to embark on this journey.
An advance team was sent ahead to take care of the logistics because we planned to stop over at Ife National Museum.
The journey to Erin Ijesa Water Falls started from Ibadan (southern part of Nigeria) around 7.00a.m with students in two charted buses. All were excited to be in the company.
Students were being introduced to various towns and villages along the route leading to Ile Ife in Osun state Nigeria.
Our first stop over was at the Ife National Museum where we were told that we can not take photographs of various artifacts.
We spent close to 1hour moving from one artifact to another and our guide was telling us stories and histories as it relate to each item.
We left the Museum enroute Erin Ijesa, the journey took us about two and half hours before we arrived there.
At the entrance to the water falls, our guide brief us about the history of the fall, efforts made by various governments to make the place a tourist center so as to generate income for the government.
We were also informed that the fall has seven level of hills.
Armed with these information, we were prepared to explore the area.
We got to the water fall around 10.30am but we noticed that the pressure at which the water was pouring increased few hours later.
Attempts were made by some curious students to climb the hills to the seventh level.
We enjoyed the visit.
Just this Christmas holiday, one of my studebts persuaded her parents to visit Erin Ijesa WaterFalls because of the experience she had when the school took them there and she sent these pictures to me.
I decided to write this memo to encourage someone out there to visit Erin Ijesa Water Falls.
Behold the mother of the house enjoying the breeze.
I hope next time you are visiting the South western part of Nigeria, you will care to visit Erin Ijesa Water Falls in Osun State.
You are welcome.
