Hola, queridos amigos de Home Solutions, adoro poder compartir con ustedes esta parte tan importante de esta época, como lo es, preparar nuestra casa para recibir la navidad, aprovecho también la oportunidad para enviarles un abrazo cargado de buena vibra y mis mejores deseos para que en cada uno de sus hogares reine la armonía y la felicidad.
Navidad es mi época favorita del año y decorar es una de las actividades que más me gusta hacer. Soy de la región Andina y aquí la tradición más importante es realizar el pesebre o nacimiento. Es por esto que la Navidad llegó un poco tarde a mi casa, porque quería comprar mi primer nacimiento, ya que el que tenían en la casa estaba incompleto.
Me costó un poco encontrar uno del tamaño adecuado, ya que en casa no tenemos suficiente espacio, entonces se me ocurrió usar la parte central de la biblioteca y creo que fue una buena decisión.

Christmas is my favorite time of the year and decorating is one of my favorite activities. I am from the Andean region and here the most important tradition is to make the nativity scene. That's why Christmas came a little late to my house, because I wanted to buy my first nativity scene, since the one they had at home was incomplete.
It took me a while to find one of the right size, since we don't have enough space at home, so I decided to use the central part of the library and I think it was a good decision.
Cuando por fin pude encontrar el nacimiento del tamaño ideal que se ajustara al presupuesto, nos dedicamos a crear el pesebre, junto a dos ayudantes muy creativos, mi pequeño Angel y mi sobrina Camila. Uno de los cambios de este año, es que no realice montañas, sino que aproveche una cortina decorativa dorada para el fondo y en el suelo use papel verde. Los años anteriores usé aserrín o polvo de colores, pero el aire terminaba regándolo por todas partes y eso no le hace bien a mi hijo, quien está pasando por un proceso de alergia ocular.
Una vez listo, la base y el fondo, instale las luces, y por último agregue cada una de las piezas, esta fue la parte favorita de los niños, pero al finalizar sentí que faltaba algo, entonces recordé el topper de la torta de bautizo de mi hijo y la colgué en el centro, da la impresión de un Ángel en el cielo, donde también agregue algunas estrellas. ¿Qué les parece? Convertí una biblioteca en un escenario de Navidad y como los libros me causaban ruido visual, forré toda el área superior con papel de regalo y problema resuelto.
When I was finally able to find the ideal size nativity scene that would fit the budget, we dedicated ourselves to creating the nativity scene, along with two very creative helpers, my little Angel and my niece Camila. One of the changes this year is that I didn't make mountains, I used a golden decorative curtain for the background and green paper for the floor. In previous years I used sawdust or colored powder, but the air ended up spraying it everywhere and that does not do any good to my son, who is going through a process of eye allergy.
Once ready, the base and the background, install the lights, and finally add each of the pieces, this was the favorite part of the children, but at the end I felt that something was missing, then I remembered the topper of my son's baptism cake and hung it in the center, it gives the impression of an Angel in the sky, where I also added some stars. What do you think? I turned a library into a Christmas scene and as the books caused me visual noise, I lined the whole top area with wrapping paper and problem solved.
Una vez listo el pesebre, llegó la hora del pequeño árbol de Navidad. Este año también quería comprar un árbol más grande, y hacer feliz a los niños quienes quieren uno gigante, pero tuve que disponer el dinero para cosas más importantes, pero esto no fue una limitante para tener nuestro arbolito. Como la base estaba partida, usé un adorno de cerámica, que es como una pequeña chimenea donde Santa Claus descansa, y sobre él instalamos el árbol, adornándolo con flores de navidad y bambalinas.
Once the nativity scene was ready, it was time for the little Christmas tree. This year I also wanted to buy a bigger tree, and make happy the kids who want a giant one, but I had to have money for more important things, but this was not a limiting factor to have our little tree. As the base was broken, I used a ceramic ornament, which is like a small chimney where Santa Claus rests, and on it we installed the tree, decorating it with Christmas flowers and bamboo.
Para terminar la decoración guardamos todos los adornos de cerámica y sacamos los de navidad, algunos Santa Claus y mis favoritos que son como un escenario con nieve, trineos y arboles de navidad. En las paredes usamos algunas manualidades muy hermosas como este juego de Muñecos de nieve que me encantan. Tenia algunos planes para adornar este año, que no logre realizar, pero espero poder llevarlos a cabo el siguiente año.
To finish off the decorations we put away all the ceramic ornaments and took out the Christmas ornaments, some Santa Claus and my favorite ones which are like a stage with snow, sleighs and Christmas trees. On the walls we used some very beautiful crafts like this set of Snowmen that I love. I had some plans to decorate this year that I didn't get to do, but I hope to do them next year.
Y así se veía la noche de Navidad con los regalos para llenar de alegría a los niños y la mesa lista para pasar una velada hermosa en familia. Estoy feliz con mi decoración este año, sencilla, pero cálida, a los niños les encantó y eso para mí es suficiente.

And that's what Christmas Eve looked like with the presents to fill the children with joy and the table ready to spend a beautiful evening with the family. I am happy with my decoration that year, simple but warm, the children loved it and that is enough for me.
