A big yes, but it takes maturity and understanding to dealing with the religion differences.
This has happened to me on two different occasions, while i was in college, I was so much attracted to a lady who is a Muslim while i was a Christian, when I made my intentions known to her, she received it in a quite funny way, but as you know, love always have it's way, we started dating in no time, it was the best love relationship I have ever had, along the line things started going south when her family heard about our love life,they ended up furstrating the relationship between us all on the basis of the religions differences.
So you see it sometime always complicated.
