It looks like even more people are recently getting a pardon over low level cannabis-related convictions, this comes thanks to Maryland governor who recently pardoned over 175k convictions this week.
There might be many people who are currently seeing benefit from further access to recreational or medicinal cannabis, but there have been plenty of those who suffered along the way. Even still there are many suffering behind bars for cannabis-related activities.
There are thousands of people over the years who have received pardons already over cannabis related activities. After all, it doesn't make much sense for people to be locked up for things that individuals are now doing in a regulated manner around the country, does it? At the very least...
Along with individuals recently seeing pardons there are thousands of others who have also sought relief in the way of expunged records, sealed records, and resentencing related to cases involving marijuana convictions too.
There are already thousands of thriving businesses in this industry in the United States and it is estimated they might see tens of billions more in sales over the next several years. Regardless of the progress though there are still some areas with harsh restrictions, despite campaign efforts on reform from veterans, patients, and others who would like to see expanded access and freedom around this industry.
