If you ever feel bored at work you aren't alone, recent surveys indicate that most people feel bored at work a majority of the time.
Job unhappiness last year was seen to be at a sort of all time high according to Gallup and for those who like their work and stay actively engaged and enjoying it you should consider yourself one of the few who isn't bored out of their mind.
Why do so many hate their job?
At least for those who aren't happy with it they are certainly in the majority it seems.
It shouldn't come as a surprise when we hear stories about people leaving their careers to pursue something much more enjoyable and fulfilling given the boredom and disdain that so many have for their work position.
Workers have reported feeling stressed at their job place, bored, experiencing anxiety, and there are even a few videos of people recording themselves on their lunch breaks expressing their dissatisfaction about having to go back in and finish the shift.
For many they simply don't have a choice and it isn't that easy to just switch careers to something else, who knows if that something else would even turn out to be better.
Getting paid to do what you love isn't an opportunity that everyone can find and can take years or decades to find. Even if you do find a job you essentially love, does this mean there will never be moments of boredom?
Some industry positions have seen self reports of more happiness than others and this includes those like forestry, logging, agriculture, among others. Some jobs can provide happiness, a sense of purpose, and truly be enjoyable, despite the many positions that might cause boredom and anxiety for others. Whether the work itself, or the people you work with, there are different elements about a job that can be enjoyed rather than just the work itself. Since this is something that many will spend decades of their lives doing it seems wise to find something that isn't fully consumed with dread, hatred, anxiety, stress, disdain etc. Then again maybe a shift in perspective can help a little as well if leaving the position overall isn't an option.
