MORSE CODE

Thoughts
like morse code
tapping at my
creative potential

Looking down
an abandoned well
falling
the pebble makes
no noise

Will the ideas
end
can they dry
up
and leave me
empty

Scratching
against
the wall of
doubt
until my fingers
bleed

Dripping
onto the floor
I walk
without
thoughts
or hope

My
heartbeat
stalls
waiting to be
whole
again
recognizing
my days
of desperation
must end

I am not
myself
I must
break the code
solve the tapping
that brings no
ideas
and pain

Then
I take a
path instead
floors and walls
are a thing of the past
breathing recycled air
no more

My lungs cry
with joy
my eyes cry
at the unlimited
beauty
and the tapping
of the woodpecker
makes total sense
it all fits
the puzzle is solved
