MILEAGE

Fire smolders
smoke rises creating a haze
across the sun

The ashes speak
louder than most can hear
yet clearly to some

The still burn
their black skin hiding
red flames underneath

They are blown like pollen
through the air
the wind decides their destination
they will never live again
