The old me
is whispering
again
louder
rules are meant
to be broken
So I plan my
day
week
month
year
to impress
My chest
tightens
palms sweat
stomach
lurches
and falls
The stakes
are too high
set the bar
lower
and lower
that's good
No expectations
lead to
no disappointment
and this is where
I am happy
