I have been there. So have you. It happens when we are young. There are no thoughts or concerns about tomorrow or ever later. In this special place we simply live in the present. drjohnthumb.JPG For me this peaked around age six or maybe seven. I remember being outside playing with my puppy. His name was Badge. He was named for a white star on his forehead. On that day we were simply happy.

This window of time is brief, but the lesson learned can be remembered. The future is irrelevant! Whatever happens later will be experienced later. Happiness exists only in the present.

In the Bible, book of Matthew, chapter 6 verse 34 it says: do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

This is old wisdom, but remains true.

My seven year old self did not need to know that Badge would be killed by a construction truck several months later. Happiness is now with the joys today brings.

Today's beauty is a photo of a young boy who has no thought of tomorrow.
