Hive Crowdventure!
We have a $10 budget for episode 3. Previously, we invested $10 in PIXELS, $5 in SOL, and $15 in HBD. We also received a $10 gift from tergan. Let's invest another $10 in a new coin and keep $10 in HBD. This will give us a total of $25 in HBD as HODL. It's fascinating to see the numbers grow. All situations meet, so why not start, keep the ball rolling, and watch the numbers grow.

In episode 2, the first three common recommendations, from oldest to newest, suggested PIXELS. So, since the crowd suggested PIXELS, it's time to do some digging. I got my shovel from the basement and started digging about what PIXELS is. Yes, it's not the Rise of PIXELS Hive game, nor is it that tap tap pixels game. It's pixels.xyz or PIXELS on the Ronin wallet, which is a farming simulator game. I'll discuss this in more detail in my blog.
I began my digging by searching on YouTube for gameplay walkthroughs and founder interviews. Since I mentioned I would move all my cryptos to web3 wallets, I also checked if I could buy something related to PIXELS on the Ronin wallet. I then read the PIXELS whitepaper thoroughly, as you know I'm interested in tokenomics. I know how to decode a litepaper or whitepaper, even if it's a little bit challenging.
Game Walkthrough: The gameplay on pixels.xyz is free, and there's no risk of rug pulling from free accounts because the in-game currency is coins, not PIXELS. You start with a few berry seeds, grow them, and sell them for coins after harvesting. Each action requires energy, which can be recharged with items costing coins. However, there's a swimming pool where players can recharge their energy for free until it reaches max. You can also participate in various activities like milking cows, making recipes, and merging items for better ones. I'll discuss Farm land later.
Founder's interview: From the discussion between the host and the founder, I learned a lot of things. When investing in a project, we try to decode the thought process of the creators. My understanding led me to the conclusion that the founders are not very interested in web3. They made pixels as a fun experiment and didn't know it would get popular. They still have Google and phone number logins for the game site. There is a lot of gatekeeping within this game. They saw the opportunity and collaborated with Ronin to bring the game on-chain because, why not, it's free money. The game still has most of its activities on web2, with a few things on web3 in the Ronin wallet. The founder doesn't believe in shoving web3 in people's faces and thinks that if people are comfortable with web2, they should enjoy it. When they are comfortable, they can move some assets to web3 as play-to-earn returns.
Remember that it's all a conclusion of keenly observing 40+ mins of interview. It's highly likely that I misunderstood their emotions and enthusiasm. Maybe in other places they might shilled web3 and blockchain more.

PIXELS FARM LAND: This is the only thing you should be interested in, in my opinion. A PIXELS FARM can cost more than 1 ETH. Yes, that's more than $4,000. If the amount is not a problem for you, as it was for me, then let me break down how it can be a good investment. So, you can't log in and click a bunch of stuff daily to keep up with many gaming projects. Simply buy a farm and tada! Now you might wonder what a farm can do if you are not playing. Basically, your farmland generates a commission from the berry crops or any activities that players do on your farmland because there are only 5,000 Farmland. Mini farmlands do exist, but they are not very profitable, and they are a freebie. Free stuff is usually bad, and if you don't know anything in detail, buying rare items makes more sense. Imagine now your farmland generates revenue; you can use that revenue to increase your farmland capacity. Now you might have 1,000 cows to milk, so players will bookmark your farmland among 5,000 farmlands since they will know that your farmland always has the capacity to facilitate their needs. Tada! Now you can invest $4,000+ to own virtual farmland and become a farm lord. Just don't tell your parents that you invested $4,000+ for some pixels (digital land) on a screen; otherwise, you know what happens next.

Tokenomics: From the tokenomics, there is nothing suspicious to worry about. There are venture capitalists and early investors, as well as the team's share, so even if they don't care about you, they do care about their net worth. They will not let it go too far down in value, but pumps and dumps will happen.
The most important thing about PIXELS tokenomics is that you can't have much control to play-for-free and get PIXELS. So, it's not like people are playing and earning just to dump PIXELS' price. There is in-game currency and the main PIXELS currency. Although there are boosts to spend PIXELS to improve your in-game skills like speed, gathering, and plucking—whatever you can name exists as a boost—as well as VIP passes for VIP Farm Land access. Oh, such lovely, sweet gatekeeping. You can also spend PIXELS to buy avatars, decoration items, or anything to stand out from the crowd, but no in-game spending of PIXELS as a free-to-play gamer can improve your earnings; it will just speed up your in-game journey. There are some ways to grind PIXELS, but it would be $2-$50 at most for a month for a free-to-play grinder at this stage, which is already too much work if the goal is earnings. But as a game, it's a good grind, and your rare in-game items might be sold for higher in the future, especially docoration items. It's similar to getting a rare skin in a game event and then, in the future, someone might buy it or your account for a higher value, which happens rarely. So be realistic and don't have high hopes.
Remember that I didn't play the game myself; I just read the litepaper/whitepaper, gameplay walkthroughs, and interviews. So if you want to dig down more, be my guest. Also, I am aware of grinding $BERRIES, but it's not my interest based on past experiences in other similar genres.
Future of PIXELS: The PIXELS team wants to allow players to make their own games within the pixelverse using different in-game currencies by spending PIXELS. Pixel-based game designs are scalable by players, as we have seen in this genre. So, if players actually end up making games, PIXELS will be like a game-launching platform with its own transferable items within multiple games. However, these are just bullish projections in my opinion. It takes years and years to reach this level, and making those games successful is also a challenge. Additionally, PIXELS' traffic as a free-to-play game is not too impressive to support a lot of different games in the pixelverse. It's a bullish signal if it happens, but just happening is not enough. The other games launched through PIXELS have to compete with market standards and gamers' preferences in order to be successful.

The game reminds me of the 'Big Farm' game, which I played with my friend Raffay from Egypt. 'Big Farm' opened up the world of the internet for me at a very young age when I was in the 5th grade. I was the guild leader and chatted with my friend Raffay. Since I wanted to hear and see him, I somehow convinced a family member to let me create my own Skype account. It became more about learning life than just playing a game. Talking to someone in Egypt at such a young age in English on a video call was already a significant accomplishment in my English learning journey. It's hard to see Pakistanis of a similar age speaking English with as much confidence as I do. I can stand in front of a crowd and shamelessly talk in English—even if it's wrong—but the message will be received by the audience. Then I made more and more friends from 'GameOfBomb,' and the exploration of the world, their thoughts, culture, and traditions continued on Skype and Facebook. That's how the 'Big Farm' game is somehow connected to me landing on Hive and might be a reason for me being so open-minded and respecting others no matter what they believe in. I am open-minded enough to enjoy 'Family Guy' jokes.
Our PIXELS token will perform better in the long term (if the project survives), but in the short term, the ride will be filled with pumps and dumps. I wish good luck to all the players out there in building good relationships with other players. Think of it more as a game to enjoy rather than as an earning opportunity.
This was my honest opinion about PIXELS after doing research with a limited time scope. If you want to educate other readers, please leave a comment to correct any misinformation written in this blog. I will gladly do more research on that point of view and edit those parts.
