Some Young Students May Not Be Suited For Online Learning

Too Young With Working With Online Tools & Technologies
Yes we live in a modern world where technology skills are essential these days and can be viewed as modern survival skills. It is not like these tech skills can be grasped in an instant. It does take time, practice to get better and faster with online tools and technology. For young students from the ages of 5 to 10, learning how to use technology can be a lot on top of them learning basic reading, writing and mathematics.
Tasks such as refreshing a page, turning the webcam on, upload a page, zooming in and out sound like basic tasks for many adults but for younger students it may not be so trivial. These tasks do require a bit of knowledge of how to use a computer mouse for clicking.
Typing for young kids is not that easy as they have to adjust the keyboard layouts, find out which letters are where before typing words. Figuring out symbols such as &, ^ and * is not that easy as it requires a combination of keys such as SHIFT + 8 (Windows) which is not really natural for fingers.
Audio, Video & Other Technological "Distractions"
For young students, the computer is also a source for online browsing, online videos and video games. Some young students may not have self-discipline to focus on the online lessons and learn. They may doze off, turn off the audio and do something else other than learning such as online browsing, texting friends, watching Youtube, listening to music, etc.
Distractions will always be around. It is up to the student to not give in to these distractions. With some young students, the self-discipline may not be there which would lessen the effective of online learning.
Background Noises
The area where the student is at when doing online learning may not be a quiet area. Loud background noises causes inconveniences to others who are on the video call. Microphones from other users will pick up on the background noises such as loud talking, yelling, cooking noises, TV, music and can cause distractions from what is actually being taught online.
Technical Specifications, Technical Issues
Sometimes it may not be a behavioural thing from the young student. The computer(s) being used is not powerful enough for online learning and online videos. There could be technical issues from the computer side or the online video side.
