Hi there. Another Pokemon TCG post here.
According to TheGamer website, there is a new Pikachu promo card. The catch is that you have to earn it through running.
Pokemon Company Fighting Back Against Scalpers?
It does seem that the Pokemon Company has been fighting back against scalpers. The 30th celebration special set does have very good pull rates. These high pull rates for the art cards bring down the prices of single cards. Lower prices hurt the scalpers as they buy a lot at low prices and try to sell high.
This new Pokemon RUN Pikachu card can only be obtained for fans that gather together, go on a run and play Pokemon GO. Those who complete the run get a Pikachu promo card.
In terms of playability, this Pikachu card is not very good. It is not meant to be a playable card. This promo is for the collectors.

Other Notes & Thoughts
It does not seem that there are any Pokemon RUN events in North America nor there are any Pikachu promo cards.
Maybe with the scalpers fighting each other in the USA, it is risky to host Pokemon RUN events over there. Runners could get attacked.
I guess it is nice of The Pokemon Company to encourage youths and people in general to get fit. Do fitness tasks for cards lol. Might as well have something like Pokemon Fitness and get Fighting Pokemon as mascots. Muay Thai with Hitmonlee, Boxing with Hitmonchan, powerlifting with Machoke, Wrestling with Hawlucha. You get the idea.
For those who run regularly and play Pokemon GO, this promo card should be easy to get.
Thank you for reading.
