A Quadratic Equation Math Problem (With Answers)

Hi there. Here is a math problem which involves a quadratic equation. This problem is at the high school level (in Ontario, Canada).

The Problem

Two young kids named Tom and Julia have two different ages. Tom is the older brother by four years over Julia. It is known (somehow) that the sum of Tom's age, Julia's age and the product of the two kids' ages is equal to 31.

What is Tom's age and what is Julia's age?
