This is Ella. She is one of the dogs from the dog grooming salon where my oldest daughter works. Her dad works there as a dog groomer. My daughter works in the office. She tells me all about the doggies she gets to meet at work.
Ella seems to be one of her favourites because my daughter has so many photos of her and always comes up in the conversation when I ask her about her work.
Anyways, I needed different models to draw to get better at this. I'm hoping to be able to call myself a pet portraitist someday. I need lots of practice.

I started by drawing the grids on the reference photo and the drawing canvas as usual. I made a quick sketch as well. I used to skip the sketch, but I found it useful.
今回は長女ちゃんが勤めてているペットサロンのドッググルーマーさんのわんこ、エラちゃんを描きました。
お気に入りのわんこはたくさんいるようですが、仕事はどお？と聞くとこの子の名前が度々出てくるので聞くと写真が出てくる出てくる、笑 飼い主さんに許可をいただき描かせてもらえることになりました。
いつか自信を持ってペット画描きます！って言えるようになりたいので描かせてもらえてありがたいです。エラちゃんのパパさん、本当にありがとうございます！いつものように参考用の写真とキャンバスの上ににグリッドを描いてから始めました。
今までスケッチはすっ飛ばしていたのですが、飛ばさないほうがいいですね、笑 制作時間が短縮出来ます。
Adding colour and blending.
色を置いてからブレンドします。
After adding and blending the colour, it's time to add details and more blending. I adjusted the eye colour several times.
ここからは描き込んではブレンドする作業が続きます。
目の色が決まらなくて何度も描き直しました。
I erased the collar, but I may add it again. I didn't have enough information about the collar from the reference photo. I need to learn the structure of the collars. It may be fun to add some flowers... I would like to be able to draw more lively and attractive than the reference photo. My practice will continue.

首輪を描いたのですが消しました。また後で描くかもしれません。首輪の部分の写真がぼやけていて参考に出来ませんでした。首輪の描き方を別に練習しないといけないですね。花の首輪にしても可愛いかなと思いました。写真より魅力的にイキイキとした表情に描けるようになりたいです。
また頑張ります。
