Fan art - Sabo / サボを描きました

I think I drew him too pretty...haha I like drawing pretty faces.
Again, this is part of learning to drawing in grayscale and semi-realism. I’m hoping that the practice will allow me to be able to draw original characters someday.
I drew Luffy the other day and you can find the rough sketches HERE.
This is Sabo from the anime/manga One Piece just in case you can’t tell because it is hard to tell who it is haha.
His eyes are circles with dots in the anime/manga. I struggled a lot to make the drawing look like him in semi-realism.
I wish I could have done better but this is where I am. I just have to keep practicing.

美人に描きすぎました。普段から自分の好みにカッコよく描く癖がありますが、これはとにかく本人に似せるのか大変で、もう何が何だか。ルフィーもですが目が丸に点ですよ。これでめちゃめちゃカッコいいんですからね。不思議だ〜
セミリアル＆グリザイユの練習続きます。
先日描いたルフィーとラフ画の記事はこちらです。
これサボですからね。似てなくてスミマセン。似せて描くのも練習のうちですが、あくまでもセミリアルとグリザイユの練習です。楽しい方がいいのでアニメキャラで練習していますが、創作キャラが描けるようになりたいのです。

I worked on his hair first and the shape of his face, eyes, ears then I realized that he looked too young.
I think I need to detail the rough sketch more.

髪から取りかかりました。顔の輪郭、目、耳、そしてなんだか若すぎるのに気づきます。
ラフ画がラフすぎるんですね。反省。。。

I changed the eyebrows then I widen the face and realized that the hair is wrong.
He still looked a bit too young and also he looked short. Sabo is tall and slim so I stretched him then I realized that he is blond so I fixed his eyebrows again but I had to change it back later😭

証明写真いろいろ、笑
眉を直し、輪郭を広げた後、髪が不自然なので直しました。
そしてまだ何だか若く見えるし、顔だけですが身長が低く見えます。サボはスリムで背が高いイメージなので顔を伸ばしました。
髪がブロンドなので眉もブロンド？に変えてみたのですが、また後で直すことになります😭

Here is colourising. I don’t know very much about the environmental colour anymore but I like when it shows through on the completed artwork.
I added basic colour then some details. You can see that I made his eyebrows darker again.
I apply the basic colours on the Colour layer first then I use Overlay and Multiply to add details.

色をのせます。疲れてきましたが頑張りました。
環境光、よく分からなくなってきましたが、仕上がりのイラスト中にチラホラ見えるのが好きです。
ベースカラーを先にのせてから細かいところを加えていきます。
眉がブロンドだとぼやっとしたイラストになってしまうので濃くしました。ブロンドのままシャキッと見せるにはどうしたらいいんだろう。。。
ベースカラーはカラーレイヤーを使い、細かいところは乗算とオーバーレイを使いました。

I’ve heard that the live action series of One Piece is in production a while ago. I hope they cast actors with suitable looks.
