Today our spotlight is on Cillion, a vocalist I encountered through a mutual Facebook group. Cillion will be the first of many artists I hope to feature and promote through the Rap Gallery blog. In this series of e-mail based interviews, I will ask 20 questions of each featured artist - they are free to answer any way they choose. 1. What name do you perform under, and how did you choose it?

My artist name is Cillion. I invented the name for myself. To me it means massive fame and wealth.

2. Are you a vocalist, a producer, or something else?

I'm a singer.

3. When did you start?

I started singing professionally in 2006.

4. What made you decide to pursue music?

My love for music and my desire to be successful doing it.

5. Which music influenced you as a kid?

R Kelly's 'I Believe I Can Fly' was a great influence.

6. Which music influences you most today?

My song, titled 'Destiny'.

7. What projects, if any, are you working on now?

I'm working on my debut album, titled 'Come Feel Me'.

8. Name one or two other artists you think more people should know about.

Carloz

9. What is the biggest obstacle you face as an artist?

Unavailability of money to finance my music to the level that I wanted.

10. Where are you from? What's the local music scene like there?

I'm from Lagos. The music scene here is fantastic. New artists are emerging every day.

11. What are you most proud of as an artist?

I'm proud of the fact that I'm living my dreams.

12. Do you have any regrets or complaints as an artist?

No, I do not have any regrets or complaints.

13. Not including rap/hip-hop, what is your favorite genre and why?

R&B. It's a soul-touching kind of music. I like how I feel when I sing or hear R&B music.

14. Did you have any lessons or formal training?

Yes.

15. Aside from music, what do you like to do with your free time?

I like to read books and watch movies.

16. Describe the perfect day.

I don't think there is a perfect day. I just live every day as it comes and I give what is required of me.

17. What is the message you want your listeners to understand the most?

I want my fans to always know that love, understanding, and tolerance is important for us all as humans.

18. If you won $100,000 today, what would you do with it?

I would invest most of the money in my music business.

19. Tell us something about yourself that we didn't ask.

I'm handsome.

20. Do you want to give any shout-outs; or plug any websites or projects?

Yeah, shout out to my brothers Habib and Tunde, and my producer Jaychords.
