The idea for this space actually came to me on the toilet like most ideas tend to for some reason. I like the idea of Divide By Zero for multiple reasons that will be explained below. I am excited to bring this place into existence because it will be a place of freedom, growth, expression and learning for both student and teacher. I will be starting out here with basic blog posts, and grow more into video and audio posts as I get more time to do so. All are welcome here.
Dividing by zero is a concept in mathematics where you divide any real number by zero (expressed as a/0). The result is interestingly enough a mathematical impossibility and therefore not allowed. If you attempt to divide by zero in computer programs (without catching or handling the exception) the program itself will crash and terminate. Strange how division is allowed by an infinite amount of numbers except zero. Zero is the only number that has this property. Anyone else find that a bit odd?
The properties of division break down when division by zero is attempted. This makes me wonder if zero is not actually part of the natural system that mathematics is supposed to represent. Zero should not be construed as the same thing as null or nothing because it is clearly not. Since division by zero can never be represented naturally, to me zero is an artificial man made construct versus something that represents nature. It also represents a weakness inherent to the system. A weakness that can be exploited.
Another example is consider the word Law for a moment. For something to be considered Law, it is universal and applies to everyone equally under all conditions anywhere. So when we have a so called "law" that says we are prohibited from taking a particular action in lets say California but then it is legal or lawful to do in Nevada or some other part of the Earth, does that sound like a Law or more like an arbitrary, man made societal guideline? Regardless of what you or I think it sounds like, it will be called law because the word has particular meaning and that meaning is what is trying to be used despite the societal guideline being nothing close to an actual Law. These examples (among many) show me the reality that I am supposed to accept is false and artificial.
As broken as we are as a species, I don't think there is anything about us that can't be fixed. That is actually really good news. However we will have to do the thing that makes some people addict themselves to drugs, alcoholics, workaholics, or do almost anything to avoid. That thing is to Look in the mirror. That's right, take a good hard, honest look at yourself and understand no matter who you are, there is a lot of shadow work that needs to be done.
The external reality will never change unless we change ourselves first. So that is where we all need to start. Understand that the things that you don't like about yourself are actually things that need to be accepted as a part of you and given love which can often be the hardest part because we always want to push those things away. Once you can accept and love yourself as you are, flaws and all can you start working to transmute those things into something positive. Our species should be working towards a higher minded society, not wasting away as a cog in the machine.
Recognize the divinity within yourself and strive to reach your full potential. When you do that you will be doing the thing that all the football games, beer, video games, movies, etc. have been trying to distract you from doing. You will be Dividing By Zero and crashing the systematic artificial construct in favor for one that is based in reality and nature.
Here are some of the topics that will be covered here, but by no means is this an exhaustive list nor is it in any particular order.
and many many more!
Love to all.
