Well had a pleasant surprise only wander down to the supermarket today. The walk takes me under the A380 at the Penn Inn flyover at Newton Abbot
Through a rather depressing subway that for years the council has been fighting a losing battle with the local Neds and Graffiti artists.
but today there has been a transformation.
I guess in the sprit of if you can't beat the join them and rather than give them a blank canvas to work on get a professional job done.
It's all part of a community arts project with Teignbridge, the Newton Abbot town council and Arts Council England.
to change the vibe of the place and brighten everything up.
One side of the walkway has the vibrant painted graffiti art the other side are large sealed urban art graffiti art posters.
which will be easy to change and replace if they are damaged or defaced.
It will be interest to see how long it lasts but at the moment it all looks very fresh and pleasant.
Mind you Hivers I could have got the whole thing wrong and it鈥檚 just advertising a local dogging spot.
Each of the underpasses has a different theme including some nostalgia of the days before the dual carriageway when there was swimming pool and boating lake on the site.
that really brought back some memories as it recalled the old public swimming baths where I learnt to swim as a lad.
