OK Hive beer fans this one is a week late but I was in Egypt at the time and struggling for an internet log in.
It was a proper Beer Saturday however as I was out for a Curry with my mate Gareth after a weeks diving on the M/Y Gelen.
So what about the beer? One of the more popular beers in Egypt is Sakara Gold. If I鈥檓 honest it鈥檚 a very bog standard 4%ABV premium lager but very drinkable and does go down well with a curry so thats what we ordered.
But not quite what we got. What turned up was two cans of Sakara El-king a 10%ABV lager and not great with a curry at all imagine Special Brew with your favourite Madras and you get the idea.
We didn鈥檛 even know Sakara made a 10% high strength lager but it doesn鈥檛 stop there we found out they also do a 15%ABV. Probably brewed as part of the Egyptian space program as rocket fuel.
So Hivers what to do obviously a trip to a bar for a bottle of Sakara Gold to wash away the taste of the El-King.
