What a difference a day can make after 2 days of rain and the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct it was time to head off back down the canal to Chirk to get the train home and say goodbye 
Day 1 and the Pontcysyllte in the rain
Typically the day dawned cold but bright and sunny so great for the drone.
Setting off in plenty of time gave me the chance to put the drone up on another of Thomas Telford's masterpieces the Chirk Aqueduct at 220 meters long and 21 meters high it is the little brother of the Pontcysyllte but no less impressive completed a few years earlier in 1801 the 10 spans are different construction to the Pontcysyllte originally the iron plates were only laid in the base of masonry trough that formed the waterway but leakage forced them to also fill in the sides to make the aqueduct watertight.
Day 2 Chirk in the sun
Note the handrail is only on one side so it's important to pick the right path on the way back from the last pub in England.
