My darling grandmother is such an inspiration for me. She always has been strong and took care of other people.
She was so creative with painting, making clothes, crochet and in the kitchen.
I loved and always love spending time with her.
When I was 1 year she moved to the Netherlands and I stayed in Brazil. When I was 7 I also moved to the Netherlands with my mom, lil brother and lil sister.
My grandmother (minha vovozinha) she always supported me with everything I have done. Even when things went wrong she never laughed or sayed "I told you so" but just gave me a huge hug. A kiss on my forehead and asked me what I would do next.
What was going to be my next step in life.
2 Years ago she was diagnosed with Alzheimer. My World crumbled down. And the sad part was that she still knew and was well aware what was going on and what would happend with her.
Now 2 years has past and sometimes she isn't my grandmother anymore. She is somebody else but she always treats me very kind...even when she doens't know who I am. I am so happy and glad that my daughters have had such a wonderful time with her.
They have such beautiful memories with my Grandmother and nobody can take that away from them.
My Grandmother is 87 years but her spirit is just as youthful as my daughters.
And yes it kind of hurts sometimes cause I know one day she will be gone. And how do you prepare for such a thing? I'm so close to her and she means so much to me.
But for now I just enjoy every moment that I have with her.
I am so thankful for my grandmother for teaching me how to cook, to crochet, to be creative. And how to be a good person no matter what.
And all of her teachings I am passing on to my girls.
Just wanted to share this with you all.
Thank you for reading.
Hugs!
