Why are police ALWAYS on the wrong side of history? Where is the story of police standing with the people against the aggression of the State? It is almost non-existent. Why? It is because the State pays them, not us.
There are many instances of people telling police, "I pay you! You work for me!" That is simply not true. The police enforce the extortion we otherwise call taxes, permits and fines. That pays them.
I would argue that this meme is largely fallacious in the sense that we ever had a Mayberry police force that was largely just doing the right thing, but the thing that has brought us to the police state we have now is PROHIBITION.
It has divided the police and the people even further than before. Large scale broad prohibition such as we have today provides an abundance of laws that can be used against us in numerous ways.
How do we change that?
Getting out of government school and developing critical thinking skills is what I believe to be the most effective long term solution. Just leaving schools will possibly shake up the "need" for the most insidious tax: property tax. Combining the lack of indoctrination from government schools with the increase in critical thinking skills along with the questioning or even the abolition of property tax, things will change.
Clearly, there needs to be a lot more change than just this, but what a start it could be.
