Not too many days ago, I had the unenviable task of explaining crypto to my dad. He's a staunch believer in stocks and gold, so wrapping his head around the crypto world took some time but once he did, he was more interested in what the crypto terms meant.
HODL - Even autocorrect has given up on changing it to hold. It was first used by a semi- drunk guy in his rant about his lack of trading skills. Sounds familiar?
DYOR - This time nobody misspelt Dior, its just a basic requirement to do your own research and not rely on what that buddy's smart neighbor's genius cousin told you.
Pump and Dump - your last tinder date. It's a basic manipulation leading to rise in prices and then selling it at a profit.
Gas - Its the transaction fee unit but looking at the prices might give you actual gas.
ATH - Something akin to your college roommate the day after the exams with a bag full of cheetos in her hands - All Time High
Whale - Rich crypto kids, mostly bored, like playing with the market
Shill - Like that guy at parties who swear XYZ coin is the next big thing just to get traction and sell his own
Satoshis - For the poor population who can't dare to talk in terms of bitcoins is a fraction of bitcoin called Satoshi
Alt Coin - The crypto bridesmaids who can never be bitcoin
Fork - A blockchain divorce
Shitcoin - coins for eternal optimists
