Blessings to all my dear colleagues and friends here on Hive. I am happy to be back with you, as I am every morning, to share a new drawing. Today’s piece features a musical instrument found on the E242 Golden Flute card from the game Rising Star. As you can see, it is a flute with a classic design—apparently made of gold. In my drawing, I tried to replicate the look of gold. I hope you like it! Feel free to share your thoughts on the drawing once you’ve seen it. Let’s get started with the process. To begin, I drew the inner frame of the card. It turned out like this:
After creating the frame, I drew the lower (smaller) section of the flute. Then, I continued by drawing the longer part of the tube, which completed the main body of the instrument.
Continuing with the process, I added some visual details to make the flute look more attractive. I included some internal divisions and, at the top, the mouthpiece—the part where one would blow air into it in real life.
With that step complete, the sketch was ready, and I could begin painting. First, I painted the outer background a brick-red color; I felt this was a good choice because it makes the golden color of the instrument—and the frame, which I also painted gold—really stand out. For the inner background, I used various shades of blue, as is my custom. Finally, I painted the flute gold; if you look closely, you’ll see that the "gold" is actually composed of several different shades of yellow blended together to create that golden effect. The final step was adding the keys along the body of the flute.
And here is the final result! I hope you enjoyed it. Thank you so much for taking a look at my drawing. Have an excellent day! Best wishes and blessings.
