This initiative of growing radish in our roof garden is highly commendable. Radish (radish leaves) is a nutritious vegetable that brings many benefits to the body. Growing such vegetables in small spaces such as rooftops is an excellent example of modern urban agriculture.
Features of Radish Cultivation on Roof:
More production in less space: Growing radishes in earthen tubs and plastic boxes is very easy and ensures proper use of space.
Eco-friendly method: Use of plastic wrap around the plants to retain moisture is seen, which prevents the soil from drying out.
Nutritional properties: Mullein leaves are rich in iron, calcium and vitamin C, which help in curing anemia, keeping bones strong and boosting immunity.
Uses of Radish:
Radishes can be made into delicious bhaji or bharta.
It can also be eaten cooked with pulses or fish, which is nutritious and delicious.
Suggestion:
If any of you are cultivating, loosen the soil regularly and give enough water so that the plants grow quickly.
Using organic fertilizers will make the leaves fresher and bigger.
Use neem oil or natural insecticides to protect plants from insects.
