Our College's Shaheed Minar: A Tribute to Twenty One
On February 1st, the great International Mother Language Day, our college's Shaheed Minar is decorated with flowers of respect and love. Students, teachers and staff gathered in front of Shaheed Minar one by one from dawn. When language martyrs are remembered in a hushed atmosphere, the whole premises is enveloped in an atmosphere of deep emotion.
Wreaths were offered at the altar of Shaheed Minar at dawn. Dressed in black-and-white, we stand in a line, flowers in hand. All around, the walls with paintings of the language movement bear witness to history鈥攔eminiscent of the struggle, sacrifice and glory.
The Shaheed Minar of our college is not only a monument but also a symbol of love and respect for our language. Standing here, it seems as if the sacrifice of language martyrs is mixed with our every breath.
So every year we observe this day with deep respect and gratitude, so that the dignity of our mother tongue remains intact forever.
