I have only been collecting silver (bars, coins and rounds) for one year.
It started with a Santa, then quickly progressed to a koala, then ALL of the Koalas.
Before you know it, I was hooked.
In those early days, it seemed there were some basics that I should add to my collection. The type of stuff any silver collector would have. I quickly added, one maple, one kangaroo, a britannia,a philharmonic, a panda, a libertad and an ASE to my stack. I didnāt feel the need to have multiples of these, but wanted one of each for sure.
My collection leans heavily towards coin series and one off funky rounds. Throw in some art bars and anything Christmas and you can picture my stack. What I donāt have.... plain/serialized bars.
Until Today
Engelhard
I am not really drawn to the plain bars. Things like SilverTowne, Sunshine Mint, Johnson Matthey donāt usually trigger the itch of stackitus for me. However, it seems like having one of each would be good for the stack. To that end, a visit to my LCS yesterday paid off....
In Engelhards
The triplets show off their backsides.
I went to my LCS yesterday after hearing from @plaid that the generic bin was full of new treasures. By the time I arrived, only milk spotted maples remained. ššš However, eight Engelhards were sitting in a tray to the side. I decided to buy one. It felt like a well rounded stack would include an Engelhard.
Well, @summertooth just happened to message as I completed my purchase. I told him I was bummed about the lack of funky rounds but I had bought one thing, an Engelhard. He seemed excited.
Too lazy š
So... despite being lazy I went back in! And bought two more bars. šš¤£
Two have the same design on the front, one is a little different.
Serial numbers, close up.
For today I am three Engelhardās richer.āŗļø One will leave me for itās new home in Oregon before the weekās end. The other.... it will find a new home eventually too. āŗļø
