Every Saturday, there is a Tiangge in our Barangay. That is why this is my walk routine every Saturday.
Tiangge is like a bazaar. It is like an open market. There are many sellers coming from other places gathers on a location and offer their products to the local people.
Here in Tiangge, you can sell any product. There is no need for any business permit or anything. Even me, if I have something to sell, I will just stand there and offer my product. It is really an open market. There's no rules here. Sometimes, in other Tiangge, there is a minimal fee to join in. But here in our Baranggay, there's no fees at all.
Products that sells in a Tiangge usually are cheaper. That's why more people are coming to Tiangge than on supermarkets or malls. Even people from other places are coming here to buy cheaper products.
Tiangge usually offers foods like fresh meats, fruits and vegetables.
But there are also goods like clothes, shoes, bed covers, bags, toys, and any other things.
The fun part on being on a Tiangge is you can bargain for prices you want. You can negotiate to the seller. And if the two party aggees, then the deal is on. They can also offer you lower prices if you buy more. And if you only have a sweet talk to them, they can offer you much cheaper price than the usual price of their product.
That's why, we buy foods for the whole week every Saturday so we can save some money.
I know a lot of Filipino also love to go to a tiangge.
And for the foreigners, if you have a chance to go here in the Philippines, just talk to any Filipino and ask them where and where the Tiangges are. Then, you will be amazed on how cheap the products are. You can also buy souvenir here. Enjoy!
