The human mind has always been complex, twisted and sometimes perverse. Over the centuries, mankind has tortured its own kind and any animal species, with time passing these horrible techniques have changed and unfortunately still today they are performed even if under different forms. In this context, I will focus on dreadful torture techniques used by humans on their peers by jumping into the past to see some objects used during the 16th and 17th centuries, I will not go into details, I will leave you to your imagination to observe these photos taken during my visit to the San Gimignano torture museum few weeks ago.

Outside the museum.

The cage.

Falaride or bronze bull.

Guillotine.

Case with some cutting weapons.

The cradle or horse of Judah.

The saw.

Crush or break head.

Collar case with spikes.

Inquisitorial or witch chair.

Different torture objects.

Additional torture items of various kinds.

Saber.

Torture chair.

Chastity belt.

Rake or Rack.

Iron Maiden.

On the left another version of the Judas cradle or horse, in the middle the pillory, on the right the rake or rack.

Torture table.

Anal and vaginal pear.

I had to significantly increase the light of this photo by modifying it because the brightness that was very low, in this hole the subject in question was placed, which was blocked at the neck with an iron ring fixed to the wall, above its head was made to filter water that came out of a hole that dripped onto his skull drop by drop, very slowly until it went mad and made him confess the alleged crime.

Electric chair.

Reproduction of torture in which people were walled up.

Finally, the outside of the museum, in this photo a chained chair and a well, you can draw your own conclusions.

The objects in the museum, opened in 1982, are about one hundred reconstructions of the ancient originals, all of them accompanied by captions explaining their use and functioning.

This visit turned out to be a very interesting and particular experience for me, which made me think a lot about the levels of madness that humans have been and are able to reach, I sincerely hope that in the near future similar disgraceful never be committed again and that mankind evolves completely in the healthiest way.

I greet thank you for taking the time to read and look this pictures (all taken by me).
