Greeting Fellow Splinterlands Summoners
I hope we all having a good day, either on Real World or in Splinterlands game. The current season will end in the next couple of days, so it's a good day to enjoy this game, either as casual players such as myself who want to play for some games or... If you are a real competitive one, it's the right day to push up your rank now!
In this post I will share an old tip about playing our game here. Yes you could guess it right by the title of this post... It only needs one wrong unit, and that's what it takes to make your strong line up falls apart.
And I am talking about picking up a wrong unit here. Not using a weak one, or use some useless unit. It is about a strong unit, in a wrong meta, or get countered, and it ends up with your lose.
I am picking Swam Spitter for the victim or the culprit for this post topic. Swamp Spitter is not a weak one, he is strong and I believe he is one of many players favorite as I like this one too.
However, I am going to show you a battle where he was useless and costed his team a lose...
I pick this old survival mode battle as it is one of the best example I have from my list. The newer or current survival mode won't allow us to use wild format units again, I know it is for the good of the modern unit market condition, but well, its a bummer for me.
My opponent was @rzc24-nftbbg , a great user from Philippines. I often met him in the past and I recalled I should have more loses against him than my wins. So I could say he was a better player. I would not make any excuses such as my cards were worse, or anything. A win is a win, a lose is a lose. Right!
His line up was better than me for this battle, as I came with some lame typical Marlai Singariel meta. Actually I was a bit disrespectful to him by coming with some spamming meta. My line up was great against bot and weak players, but it should be useless against real good human.
And that was one of the reason I did not want to post this one months ago, because I did not want people to know my frequent spamming meta. But the rule has changed now so It doesn't matter anymore.
So How Come Swamp Spitter Is The Wrong Unit?
Well we could know from the start, he used 3 tanks there, the first was Baakjira and the second was Kulu Mastermind, both had no armor. So they would not get help from the repair ability that Swamp Spitter provided. I thought he was meant to protect Isgald Vorst from incoming opportunity attacks, but I did not see it would work that way regarding Isgald Vorst would make a kill and had higher health point.
Second was my spamming Marlai Singariel meta. We had a combined 20 magic damage per round, so expect we would wipe out a tank in every round. Any repair ability would not effective against magic attacks regarding none of theirs had the void armor ability. This would make a repair armor defensive meta useless.
The fun fact was that they were winning in the first couple of round. However without any healing support and repair armor support was useless against magic, they were losing their tank very fast. Soon the table was turned upside down and they started to lose badly.
The battle ended in round 6. They only had range units left, it would not do any good right now. If only at this point they did not use Swamp Spitter, things would be a win for their side. Please do not see this battle as something my team dominated, because I had most of my units near death lol.
Why I did not Blame Runic Skyclaw
They had two range units there and we could say both ended as part of the losing units. There were a couple of reason why I did not see Runic Skyclaw as a mistake in this battle:
So yeah, she did her role, not like the Swamp Spitter which only did as an ordinary range units.
What do you think about this one? Do you agree that one wrong unit could make you lose, even it is the strong one? Feel free to express your opinion about them here and see you next time guys!
