Welcome to my Splinterlands Share Your Battle Weekly Challenge. This Week we have Dax Paragon as our theme, a small mana magician from Life Element Chaos Legion Edition. Unfortunately I do not have this card so I will pick another one as a raplacement.

A few days ago I talked to some friends in telegram group, telling them that I got another Rift Watchers card but I could not remember why I bought her. I am not a heavy spender so any dollar I spend on buying Splinterlands cards are precisely something that I need for sure.

This card looks amazing however I think it's quite useless because all her abilities aren't something that I need in any team. So I decide to call her the useless however I believe there will be time she will be useful.

Lore: When the Riftwatchers arrived on Lemell and offered a place in their ranks, these coastal nymphs eagerly joined, happy for the opportunity to use the Chaos Legion as target practice.

She is Coastal Nymph, a range monster from Rift Watcher edition. Her stats is awesome, she has the damage, she has the speed and good combination of armor and health... why do I call her the useless? Well I have 3 valid reasons for this

1. Her 9 mana requirement gives you a hard time picking the right battle for you. Her stats is amazing for a bronze league battle, however you won't get any good opportunity which have high mana cap.
2. Her abilities are useless in my preferred meta. I rarely use scatter shot because it's like depending your luck on RNG.
3. back to her 9 Mana requirement, there are alot water monsters who are stronger and available for your selection at that mana cost.

However let see how things will go, I think I have got a battle to show you guys atleast this useless is useful in some case.

THE BATTLE

This was a battle of Modern Format Gold League. My team was a half ass silver level ones meanwhile my opponent came with most of his cards were max gold level cap. There were 2 rulesets I was trying to exploit using my Coastal Nymph. The first one is no legendary, which meant that less competition against strong legendary monsters. The second one and the most important one is Fog of War.

The latest update on Fog of War was that opportunity now could not be used in this ruleset. So every attacks would go to the front gate, our main tank position. Except for scatter shot ability. This was the sole reason I would like to go using Coastal Nymph, to take out opponent backline using her Scatter shot.

Position	Card	Ability	Plan and Strategy
Summoner		+1 Speed, +1 Armor	The best rare summoner from Chaos Legion Edition. Her +1 armor and +1 speed can fit in well for many meta.
Main Tank		Void Armor	I like lemell refugee alot, especially when I play on lower league. She does not possess enormous strength, however she gives versatility which can take on any kind of attacks, physical melee and range or magic attack.
Second		Reach	One of the unique reach melee monster. This squid is an early bloomer, strong at low league and doesn't much grow on higher league. I think he is the best second tank I can get for this battle
Third		None	The third tank, and she is a heavy hitter too. I do not favor her that's why I do not own a high leveled Nerissa Tridawn. She is too plain, a good addition but won't make or support any meta
Fourth		protect	An old school support, I like her alot especially during the time I have no Kelya as the summoner. Her +2 armor would be one of the key winning point here.
Fifth		Tank Hea	The best support we can get from Chaos Legion set. She heals Lemell, Flying Squid and Nerissa Tridawn.
Last		Scatter Shot	Our main theme for this week, let's hope she will perform well and lead my team to victory.

Round 1

• This battle started by each parties buffed and debuffed monsters.
• My opponent came with 4 Melee Damage, 6 range damage and 3 magic damage, combined all become 13 damages per round.
• My team had 4 melee damage, 4 range damage and 4 magic damage. Total damage was 12 damage per round. It looked like both of us were on equal ground.
• both of us had 3 tanks too but too bad for my opponent, he could only had 1 attacking tank due to Fog of War ruleset.
• The start was ridiculous, my Coastal Nymph killed his Fire Elemental in one blow.

Round 2

Round 2 started with the favor on my side. Again my Coastal Nymph made a kill on this round, this time Living Lava was her prey. Too bad my Lemell Refugee could not survive in this round

Round 3

In this round I lost my squid... I could take down his Disintegrator, however they displayed how fearsome a fire element attacking prowess was...

Round 4

It's 4 vs 3 now but look at their attacking prowess... 11 damage per round, meanwhile I was having a 8 damage per round only

Round 5

it's still 4 vs 3, their tenyii survived round 4th because my Coastal Nymph landed on the wrong target. let make this fast forwarded

My team needed 8 rounds to conclude this battle. Good game

BATTLE DISCUSSION

It will never be an easy battle everytime we need to fight someone who has higher tier level monsters, in this battle my silver level tier monsters have to fight some gold level tier monsters. There are three points we can take in this battle:

1. Coastal Nymph attack power definitely is fearsome, she can kill monsters in one shoot, something that portal spinner and Gem Meteor can't do
2. Scatter shot definitely works during Fog of War and this can be a game changer.
3. Scatter shot still scatter shot, sometime it can backfire at you. I almost get this one in the middle of the battle, I should be winning by a huge margin however things changed
