Devil Gundam: Thigh Scratch Building [Leg Modification - Part 9]

Hi guys!

Today I will continue scratch building the thigh for my Devil Gundam. So here are my updates today!

I've cleaned up the pla plates before doing any further modifications to it. I used file since it is a lot faster than using sanding sticks.

There are some scratch there on the left pla plates. But since I will detail this later, I will leave it be.

I used a thinner pla plates for the first connector between these pla plates/thigh. Because I know I will put more detailing into this later and I might increase the thickness later.

Increasing thickness will be far easier then decreasing thickness in my opinion. Besides my goal today is to create a basic 3 dimensional structure I can work with.

I've measured the depth of this connector to be slightly less than the gap in between the leg parts.

So that the thigh can move freely later and I don't have to trim any leg parts. Which saves me a lot of time later.

I've prepared all the pla plates before cementing them together using tamiya cement. I will use both tamiya cement and tamiya thin cement for this step.

I carefully cement the pla plates together and I will let it cure properly overnight since I want stronger bond between these pla plates.

If I got the measurement wrong I can just redo this step since it is only 1 single pla plates that I have to replace. This is also one of the reasons I started with only one connector.

Since the cement has dried a little bit I can kind of test fit the thigh with the leg I am working on.

I think in terms of proportion it looks okay and the shape is good enough for me. So I can call this a day!

Next I will have to make the other thigh and after that I will have to embed the connector with the hip into the new thigh.
