What Coffee & Cake We Had for Tea Time?

Hello, friends especially foodies and coffee lovers!

Recently mom and i spent our tea time in the most popular starbucks outlet which had just re-opened few months after some renovating... this new renovated outlet looked cool from the outside and it always has many customers when we pass by, it made us curious and want to spend our tea time there...

THE OUTLOOK

When we arrived there, although it wasn't on the weekend, but it had so many customers... look at the customers waiting to buy some coffee there.. the line was long!

So mom and i needed to have strategy for it, mom then tried to look for a table for us, while me, i got the other job to wait and buy coffee and cake for us.

THE MENU

After waiting for the other customers before me, then it was my turn to order. They had many choice of coffee or not coffee drink and also kind of pastries or cakes on their showing case. They had barista recommendation such as salted caramel macchiato, ice shaken espresso, hazelnut latte, signature chocolate, espresso & matcha fussion, vanilla sweet cream cold brew, ice shaken hibiscus tea lemonade, asian dolce latte, green tea or vanilla cream frappucinno, dark mocha frappuccino, and java chip frappuccino. From those menus, some were plant based.

For us, I asked for their special drink this season, from four kind of drink they had, unfortunately, they only had two kind that left that day, the choice would only peppermint mocha and toffee nut crunch latte. I asked the recommendation for the most popular one.. i also didn't forget to choose a cake that looked so good, could you guess what?

THE PRICE

Look what i bought for us, a tall size of peppermint mocha coffee and a piece of chocolate ganache & raspberry cake... the price was 101k IDR or around 7.11 USD.

After paid, i should wait for the order on the barista table. I looked how he made our coffee, while they already put my cake on the table.

All were in the single used sterile packaging, i asked for the hot coffee so it used the paper cup while the cake had plastic packaging.

THE TASTE & THE FLAVOUR

Hot Peppermint Mocha Coffee

It made from Starbucks signature Espresso Roast combined with steamed milk, sweet mocha sauce, and peppermint-flavored syrup. The hot one tasted too sweet for us. We could taste their coffee blended with peppermint which brought the mint freezy flavour. A bit awkward for hot coffee.. but it was okay, at least we tried one of their special holiday menu.

Chocolate Ganache & Raspberry Cake

It was rich moist fudgy chocolate cake which especially made from real chocolate as the cream that joined their chocolate layers cake, which tasted sweet and so good. It also had raspberry in between each layer which also tasted tasty. I love how they made this smooth chocolate cake so special. Yes i was in love with this Starbucks dessert. Unfortunately mom only could eat a bit of it due to her diabetic condition.

THE DINING AREA

There we were seeing around and took some pictures of the dining area they had.

It was cozy and naturally earthy, with the wood floor and green color. They also had a long large table to share if you needed to open and work on your laptop or charge your phone. All was pretty but it always crowded.
