Hello, friends especially needleworkers !
On Sunday I always spend my time wisely for my hobbies, one that I recently started is crochet. And yesterday I spent my time wisely, half for doing the paper craft which I am going to share to you all soon, and half of the time i spent on doing two kind of crochets, one of them is this magic ring. And i made this magic ring with my newest yarn which came a couple of days ago.
Actually this was my first time trying to make a magic ring, and I would like to share my experience with you all, what I would like to share at first it wasn’t easy for me because I hadn’t tried it before but then I didn’t give up and repeated it again and again, until on the third attempt I finally could make the best one (in my opinion), but it actually based in your own opinion, about the neatness. But for me, I was in love with this final result. Through this journey of trying, I could find the best easiest way to make it neat.. So follow me..
First, I made a cross on the bottom of my left hand. Then I turned it back. After that I took the yarn on the left under the other yarn. Then, I took a bit of the yarn from my pinky finger and next I released my hand slowly. Look, I already made the big loop. The yarn that was shorter was a tail. I made it well and no difficulties I found in making this basic loop.
Then I made some single crochets around the loop. First I put my hook under the source of the yarn, then put it through, I would get two loops then I took the yarn one more time and passed it through these two loops, Yes I made it, all I needed to do was just making a couple more of single crochets.
After finishing several single crochets then I pulled the tail. Then the magic happened, the ring made up, but if you take a look closer on it, you would find out that it wasn’t neat, yes at least it was not quite neat for me..
So, my first attempt was not okay, then I tried once more, I still couldn’t do it well, the problem I had was the single crochets on the loop were not okay because they weren’t neat. But I didn’t give up, I released the yarn and I just started it over again. Then I could make it neat finally on the 3rd time and I remember, when I make it, it is really important to hold the loop and also the tail with your left hand and also make sure that the loop is wrapped in the single crochets we made. I found that this one was the most important thing to make neat single crochets around the loop. Look at how neat I made after I did it well (yes we need to care about the process to get a great result in everything). From this crocheting attempts, I tried to take some lessons. First, we needed to track what we did in everything, saw if there any we missed in order to get a better result. Second, we should never stop, until we find the best way to do something sucessfully, never give up. And last, respect and always pay attentions on the process plus progress.
Crochet learned me a lot so far..
This was my successful third attempt
On the left were the single crochets I made around the loop, and on the right were after I pulled the tail. Isn’t it neat like I said to you before?
Thanks for reading my article, hope you enjoy it and stay tune for more CRAFT things from me!
