ChatGPT has been making some waves in the market. I am kind of worried what it is doing these days in the market like - design, code, editing, etc. So naturally being in the digital space, I am worried about my job too.
So let's try to discuss potential elephant in the room. Is ChatGPT going to replace programmers?

If you check the current results of the code that is being posted by the ChatGPT AI, you would realize that it is cut pasting the content, code and the design from the already posted content on the web. And that means it is not being original with it's own content.
By looking at the code, you can easily guess that it is often going to be bad code. Like you would use the generic pseudo code to learn but often Ai is copying the code out of the context and presenting it to you. So that could lead to learning bad code practices for now.
AI is currently in the baby phase. And it is doing what we asked it to do. As it gets matured it would gain the ability to pick the judgement. When it comes to judgement, more experience the more easier for that machine to get the judgement.
When we see the experienced people who do the work in the industry. It is easier for them to choose for us. And that approach of the judgement is something we don't like but we are kind of forced to accept the judgement of people.
AI is like that intelligent being which requires the owner and operator. Otherwise it can't do things without anyone's attention. Because whatever it is doing currently is something that is meant for saving the time. And it's not meant to replace what we have.
When programmers and the architects who choose to use AI for the code. They know where the boilerplate code can be used. And that is something the AI can be used to program for. And further extended code can be something other programmers can take over.
Some people need to understand this fact that code can be taken from the boilerplate code. But currently with the brain that AI has it is not in position to do things on it's own. So that's another thing people would be thinking instead of worrying about the job.
AI is here to bring in automation and not going to replace your job. You have to train a baby for next 5 to 10 years before it can single handedly take over the world. You have a lot of job to do in order to train it on morality, decision making and self choices.
I think we are worrying about AI because a lot of us are trained to do work. And it has been our earning sources to make money out of the digital market with code, design etc. But that could change with time as AI gains momentum.
It's too early to take over the jobs, ChatGPT is still young in the process.
