In this post, we look at How to Install SQL Server Reporting Services. SQL Server has plenty of services that you can use for the report building and the using the report builder a lot of this can be automated too. So before you can do that you would also have to learn how to set things up.
SQL Server 2022 is released last year and it has many components that you can use with the engine. And this way you can build reports, build tools that would help you get the most out of the enterprise nature of this database.
Here's what you need to set things up for the SQL Server Reporting Service.
You can get the same here and here.
You can check out the below video for setting up the SQL Server Reporting Service on Windows.
We are going through the process to set things in order for the Report Services.
You can learn about how to setup the SQL Server on Windows. I have covered the instructions for the Windows 11 and SQL Server 2022 Install on Windows.
I assume that you have the Windows SQL Server Developer Edition. And this way you can easily test it out. You can always go with the Enterprise license and that would be one way for the business use case to get deployed. You choose which edition to install and just finish the installation by following the variety of the steps that you can follow through the link above.
Next step is downloading the setup of the reporting service setup. You can choose the language at the time of setting up the installer. You just have to keep pushing the update and move to next few process and allow the setup to configure. You can go with the defaults too if that is what you want to do. And then once done you would have the report builder and the SQL Server Reporting service integrated and usable through management studio.
Once setup you are going to be able to use it standalone report builder. You can use it through the SQL Server Management Studio. Another way is to use it through the Visual Studio Community Edition too. So that is going to be a good option for anyone who wants to set things up that would be usable in every scenario of your database project.
