I have been playing the tower defense games on android for years. And my experience with the tower defense games is pretty good enough that I can pick up any random tower defense game and get better at it. However a lot of tower defense games are tough and get harder as you play them one level after another.
Realm defense falls into same category as that. It is one good game but has a lot of features and new heroes being added to new world, every year. So it kind of made the game more competitive over the years.

So let's review realm defense. Let's first start with the graphics of the game.
You may notice that the game has chibby heroes and the enemies. The game pretty much looks like chibby version of the league of legends. You are given hero and you are protecting the towers. But there is a twist, you are not combating any multiplayer person. You just deal with the small creeps and the monsters. All of them are designed pretty much interesting way.

They also have pretty good graphics for various worlds level scenery. You meet some really big and good monster which are also chibby in their own design. I am pretty much content with the graphics as it gets better with each world in the game.
Each world gives you new hero and you get to play some of the difficult levels before exiting that world. And some new hero you have to acquire by defeating them before unlocking them. That happens in the mid or the end of the world. You also get new heroes without playing their levels. You get them through hero reveal events.

Difficulty can be extreme in some cases. So you have to churn the elixir and give them to heroes to level up outside the game. And also increase your armory with all the possible levels that may restrict you.
Speed gets tough as level becomes harder. So you have to be pretty smart with the tower placement and also using the hero in the right places. Most of your game struggles would in placement of the hero because they too get targeted by the creeps. And the speed of some creeps is pretty high.
Game requires a lot of churning. And you can't finish entire game in one month unless you are spending hours daily till entire month. So if you want long term churn worthy game, then it's better to go with the other games which finish quickly.
Think of this game as league of legends in the mobile tower defense type. And it gets lot difficult with items and other churning in the game.
However I do recommend playing the game if you get bored on mobile and don't know what to do with the time you have at hand. In such case this game can make your time worthwhile along the way.
