I missed writing about my weekend engagements. I had this blog series titled "Weekend Wandering" on my previous Hive account, which was already compromised. Now, I am trying to revive the series so I can document again how I spend most of my weekends.
My girlfriend asked me to accompany her to Eastwood because her company is issuing her a laptop. She was thrilled because she could finally let go of the bulky desktop computer at home. Also, she will now be able to work wherever. It was my first time accompanying her inside the IBM Plaza.
As soon as we accomplished the deed, we went straight to a Tokyo Tokyo food truck adjacent to KFC. She's a fan of Honey Chicken Teriyaki, but I'm craving KFC's Zinger with Ala King sauce, so we ordered first from Tokyo Tokyo and ate in KFC.
Since it's been a while since she visited Eastwood because of her work-from-home set-up, we decided to have a quick walk around.
When we went inside the Eastwood Mall, she asked if I wanted to watch Thor: Love and Thunder. Of course, I do! Upon checking, we discovered that it now costs Php400 (8USD). But we had an idea - why not transfer to Sta Lucia and watch the movie there?
Sta. Lucia East Grand Mall is a few kilometers away from Eastwood. If you are not familiar with the malls and establishments in the East of Manila, let me acquaint you with some of them. We have Eastwood City, UP Town Center, and several malls in Araneta Center, Cubao (Quezon City), SM Marikina and Riverbanks (Marikina), Ayala Feliz, and Robinson's Metro East (Pasig), Sta. Lucia (Cainta, Rizal) and SM Masinag (Antipolo).
Since we know that Sta. Lucia offers the lowest price we opted to go there. And true enough, the ticket price is only Php 275 (5.5 USD). How about that for savings! Though I know there's a reason for the price difference - ambiance, experience, coziness, but this time we're just after the story, not the place. Perhaps next time.
While waiting for the screening, which is 4:50 pm, we stayed in Figaro first for a cup of Salted Caramel Macchiato and a slice of Blueberry Cheesecake. We tried exploring my girlfriend's new laptop and took several pictures of us together. We sure love goofing around.
Thor: Love and Thunder is somehow a goofy movie, as most reviews describe it. It's a tad different from the mood of the first and second Thor installments. But I enjoyed the movie! I love everything Marvel and MCU. And as a true MCU fan, you don't leave right after the ending scene. You endure the credits and treat yourself to a surprise. A little treat: Thor: Love and Thunder have two post-credit scenes, so make sure you'll stay throughout!
After the movie, we strolled around the mall. And when we saw a familiar massage chair service, we made sure to have our turn. We first experienced Ver Vince massage chair service in Starmall SJDM. What we love about their service is that they are hygienic, and the staff are friendly and customer-oriented. Perhaps that's the very reason why people line up for them. Their massage chairs are the best too! But of course, nothing beats human hands when it comes to massage. Ohh, I miss Swedish massage!
Before we went home and resigned for the day, we went to the department store and looked for a dress she could use for the Sunday service. She had a few trips to the fitting room until she found the perfect fit.
And that, my friends, is how our weekend wandering went. Until next weekend!
