First of all, the total supply of IOTA is fixed and it's premined.
The number seems too large but Iota is the smallest unit like Satoshi for bitcoins.
While trading people are generally using Mi (Mega Iota). In your wallet, you will see Iotas abbreviated to Mi, Gi and so on.
