Photography - Are people contributing enough???

Photography the art of playing with light , one art form that evolved tremendously with time , but what I see in my view is people today are not contributing their level best , by saying this I mean people are not really developing their own style of presenting things , copying trendy filters may get you followers and attention , but question yourself. Am I really doing my level of best , Am I being unique?
