Hello, community, the #BOM of the month has arrived, we are asked to talk about those musics or songs that invite us to evoke a part of our existence every time we listen to it, that's why I am pleased to share with you, some of those songs that are part of the soundtrack of my life.
Decade of the 70's
When I was a child I often listened to the radio, since my mother always listened to it in the morning hours, perhaps at those hours there was little bustle in the house, since we attended school at different times, my older brothers in the morning and my younger brother and I in the afternoon shift, the songs that were most broadcast radio at that time were the earthlings, however, Cantares was that I most liked to hear, belongs to by Joan Manuel Serrat, my older sisters often sang them.
At that age I knew little about the meaning of that song, but now I do, and I like it much more, I leave you some paragraphs of the lyrics of this song and so that you know what he talked about
Cantares by Joan Manuel Serrat
Everything happens and everything is
But our thing is to pass
spend making paths
paths over the sea
never chase glory
Nor leave in memory
Of men, my song
I love the subtle worlds
Weightless and gentle
Like soap foam
Decade of The 80's
The music that was most listened to in my adolescence was Menudo, and the musical themes of Saturday night fever, but my favorite songs were those of the Venezuelan musician Frank Quintero, I liked almost all his repertoire, when I was in the last years of the secondary school, the song that played the most on the radio stations in Barquisimeto was Song for you, it was almost a hymn because it played so much on the radio.
Song for you by Frank Quintero
Close your eyes and gently
Let your head rest back
let the dream
own you
When the night slowly
carefully turn off the light
let the wind
bring you to me
And if in dreams I could fly
I would come to you
then make you listen
what i could never tell you
And I feel the dawn sometimes touch
carefully my door as you pass
and without speaking
takes me to you
I can't find words that can say
how wonderful it is to be able to feel
the warm of a home
that you take refuge in you
And if in dreams I could fly
I would come to you
then make you listen
what i could never tell you
Laugh without the joy that I stole from you
cry with the sadness that I gave you
live with the nostalgia that I left you
keep your promise to me
that maybe one day you will be there
that from time to time you will think of me
Decade of The 90's
This decade was marked by continual trips to the interior of the country, I really liked pop-rock and one of the singers who totally captivated me was the Irish Sinéad O'Connor, a taste I shared with my boyfriend at the time.
New Century
With the new century came great changes in my life, projects that were finished, the physical departure of my parents, the my brother, the suicide of one of my nephews, the definitive separation of a relationship that lasted ten years, retirement, and many others. To this, new music and new voices were added to my soundtrack, in this case Amy Winehouse, whose wonderful voice will always be remembered.
I hope you have enjoyed the songs that are part of my soundtrack, it has been a real pleasure to have made this #BOM, if you are interested in participating you can enter Blog of the Month Musical Memories
